The gauntlet goes over the coat sleeve and secures above the elbow, so there's no gap for snow to get in at the wrist and nothing to fall off at the bus stop.

Every kid comes home with something. A rock with an interesting shape, a lucky penny spotted in the snow, a quarter saved for the gumball machine. The pocket on the back of this mitten holds the important stuff, and it fits a hand warmer on the mornings their hands need a head start. The solid-color shell comes in blue, red, or black, and the 70g insulation and waterproof bladder power through recess, after-school building projects, and the walk home. The gauntlet secures above the elbow, and the universal thumb in Size Small fits either hand. This is an everyday-winter mitten for the school week. If your kid spends whole days out in deeper cold or on the ski hill, the Storm Mitten is the warmer step up.

  • 70g Thinsulate insulation
  • Waterproof bladder
  • Long gauntlet, goes over coat sleeve, secures above the elbow
  • Back-of-hand pocket, fits treasures or a hand warmer
  • Size Small has a universal thumb that fits either hand.
  • Sure Grip palm patch
  • Reflective detailing
  • Taslon nylon shell
Will it fit over a puffy coat sleeve?

Yes, that's what the gauntlet is built for. It goes over the sleeve, not under it. If your kid is between sizes, go up. The gauntlet works best with a little room.

Are these waterproof?

They have a waterproof breathable bladder, so hands stay dry through snow and wet play while the mitten still breathes.

How do I wash them?

Machine wash cold. Dry on low or no heat, or let them air dry overnight.

"I picked up a pair of these mittens from a local store when my son was younger, which he wore for 2 years, and outgrew. I ordered him a new pair, in the larger size, and am still loving these mittens. Before, he would get so frustrated with conventional mittens, as they would always fall off. Now, we don't have to worry about his mittens falling off, or snow getting into the top of them. He stays plenty warm, and dry with these."
