The gauntlet goes over the coat sleeve and secures above the elbow, so there's no gap for snow to get in at the wrist and nothing to fall off at the bus stop.

Will it fit over a puffy coat sleeve?
Yes, that's what the gauntlet is built for. It goes over the sleeve, not under it. If your kid is between sizes, go up. The gauntlet works best with a little room.
Are these waterproof?
They have a waterproof breathable bladder, so hands stay dry through snow and wet play while the mitten still breathes.
How do I wash them?
Machine wash cold. Dry on low or no heat, or let them air dry overnight.
